Wenn Fremde statt des üblichen süßen Lächelns plötzlich lautes Gebrüll ernten, beginnt Ihr Baby vermutlich zu fremdeln. Aber warum ist das so?

Etwa ab dem 6. Lebensmonat machen Babys einen wichtigen Entwicklungsschritt durch. Sie fremdeln. Konkret bedeutet das, dass sie aufhören, zu jedem freundlich zu sein. Sie fangen an zu selektieren und stellen plötzlich fest, dass sie die Person ja eigentlich gar nicht kennen. Daraufhin werden sie ängstlich und klammern sich an der Mutter fest. Diese Phase ist völlig normal und geht auch wieder vorbei. Aber warum fremdeln Babys überhaupt?

In der Fremdelphase reagieren Kinder abweisend und ängstlich auf die Annährungsversuche von fremden Personen. Besser gesagt, von allen Personen außer der eigenen Mutter. Auch Väter sind meist davon betroffen, wenn sie den ganzen Tag arbeiten und erst abends nach Hause kommen. Doch das heißt nicht, dass Babys ihre Väter ablehnen und gar nicht mögen. Auch wenn es schwer fällt, sollten Väter das Verhalten ihres Kindes einfach so hinnehmen. Wenn diese Phase vorbei ist, wird das Baby wieder gerne bei seinem Papa sein.

Warum fremdeln Babys?

Ab dem sechsten Monat können Kinder zunehmend zwischen den verschiedenen Menschen unterscheiden Sie wissen, wer ein Vertrauter und wer ein Fremder ist. Früher konnten sie das nicht, und waren deswegen zu jedem Menschen freundlich. Ihr Kind wird jetzt auch neugierig auf seine Umgebung und fängt an sie zu erkunden. Es lernt krabbeln und gehen und macht viele neue Erfahrungen. Dabei ist es oft etwas ängstlich und braucht deswegen die Sicherheit und Vertrautheit der Eltern. Fremdeln ist auch eine Sache des Charakters und lässt darauf schließen, ob Ihr Kind eher offen oder eher schüchtern ist. Meist wird das Kind auch von seiner Mutter geprägt: Kinder von kommunikativen Müttern fremdeln oft weniger.

Auch wenn Sie nicht verstehen, warum Babys fremdeln, sollten Sie das Verhalten Ihres Kindes unbedingt unterstützen!
